How to Take Care of a Dental Bridge

Posted .

Have you recently restored your oral health with a dental bridge in Stockton, California? If so, it’s best to take good care of it so it can last for many years. However, our Country Club Dental dental team understands that that might be a difficult task if you’re not quite sure how to take good care of your bridge. So, to help you, your dentist, Dr. Lavanya Gill, and our dental team encourage you to do the following things:

-Brush: Make sure you brush your bridge twice each day. As you brush, use a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Make sure you get every nook and cranny of your bridge and do your best to brush your smile for at least two minutes each time.

-Floss: Don’t be afraid to floss your bridge at least once a day. Flossing will help you maintain strong and healthy gums, which will help your bridge last as long as possible. As you floss, use an easy-to-use product, like waxed dental floss. Make sure to floss every crevice of your smile.

-Rinse: Rinse your mouth once a day with fluoride or antibacterial mouthwash. Doing so will help you complete the smile-cleaning job and will also help keep your teeth and bridge free from gum disease and tooth decay.

-Be careful where you chew: When you first get your dental bridge, be careful not to chew hard or sticky foods with it. It’s best to avoid chewing on that side of the mouth altogether.

If you do these things, there is a chance your dental bridge could remain in tip-top shape for many years to come, which is exactly what you need for a successful oral health, right? Right.
